Focus on: Alina Isaac
Toronto, ON
Alina has a passion for creating reflective space and helping people befriend their inner life. She delights in concocting experiential workshops, infusing her work with creative, action-oriented approaches
She holds a Masters in Social work and is trained in group psychotherapy and sex therapy. Alina has a private practice teaching Kaiut Yoga and facilitating workshops on topics such as the erotic; transitions; the relationship between inner life and outer life. Alina completed 300 hours of Kaiut Yoga teacher training. Her classes in Toronto’s east end invite students to slow down, bring themselves into presence to experience their body from the inside rather than achieving an ‘ideal’ outer shape. Inspired by the method’s accessibility and intelligence, she is committed to teaching and spreading the word about this natural, holistic, and ever-evolving practice to as many people as possible.
Alina worked for many years consulting on mental mental wellness and organizational culture, providing education and support to organizations and community groups. She has worked as an addictions nurse and in a day treatment program with women recovering from abuse. She volunteered for many years for the Canadian Group Psychotherapy Association as treasurer and conference-planning co-chair; and spent two months in the Arctic in a nursing internship. She practices meditation and Kaiut Yoga; enjoys clay sculpture and painting; some of her poetry was published.
