    A Hybrid Format: Pre-Programming and Open Space

    Each year Mindcamp offers dozens of sessions dedicated to helping participants discover, develop, and pursue their personal and professional creativity. Our format combines the depth and wisdom of fully-developed sessions with the open, dynamic, creative energy of the Open Space process.

    This year, we are bringing back Mind U, 5 hours of immersive training/experience in a series of 75-minute sessions that run the entire length of Mindcamp. These concurrent sessions are deep dives into a given area. There will be five Mind U programs to choose from: you select one of them, and return to it in the first period each day for the whole of Mindcamp (you go to other stuff for the rest of each day). Total Mind U program time is five hours over the course of four days.

    Mind U Sessions

    40+ Open Space Sessions
    These sessions are not pre-programmed... they will develop through the Open Space methodology. There will be dozens! But we don't know what they will be yet.
    Never been to an Open Space conference? You're in for a treat!
    Other Scheduled Sessions
    A Typical Day at Mindcamp (linked to explanations)
    • Wake up and choose (or not) to join others for yoga, or freewriting — or just sleep in
    • After breakfast, attend your Mind U
    • After the morning break, go to the Open Space Marketplace and see what folks are offering today
    • Choose and attend sessions before and after lunch
    • Enjoy some free time in the mid-afternoon (go to the beach, meet with a friend, write home, nap… whatever you like)
    • Just before supper, meet with your Kaleidoscope group
    • After supper, more sessions!
    • Later in the evening, attend a Night Flight, or sing by the MindCampfire, have a drink at the bar, or just find a nook to relax in (could be your room)
