2023 Trailhead Sessions

Each morning we’ll have several concurrent Trailhead sessions to set the tone for the day. The balance of the day will be structured as Open Space to allow whoever is interested to propose hosting one or more sessions.

Tool Clinic
Ordinary magic in your pocket

Every Mindcamper is a magician — they can pull out of their (metaphorical) pocket one, ten, even a hundred little tricks, tools, or techniques that help them perform Ordinary Magic in any situation requiring creative thinking, from Inovation sessions to family feuds.

Let's do what Mindcampers do best: share what we know. Come together to share your favourite creativity or facilitation tool in a small team. Then together your team will select a tool to present to the larger group. By the end of this session you will have magically learned (or re-learned) at least half a dozen tricks to keep in your magic pocket!

Got a tool or two you'd like to share? Come prepared to describe and possibly demonstrate it. If not, just come and enjoy learning the magic other people have discovered.

The Skinny: 3 things you will do in this session

  • Explore a range of creativity/facilitation tools
  • Share your favourite tool
  • Road-test a new tool
Tim Hurson
Toronto, ON
Tim helps organizations and individuals think more productively. His experience is the basis for the principles and tools in his book: Think Better.

Tim speaks around the world about how to develop creative leadership to manage change rather than be swamped by it, and has guest lectured in business schools in the US, Canada, UK, Mexico, Chile, and Australia. He is a founding director of Mindcamp and father to four wonderful human beings, Emily, Branwen, Peter, and Max, and grandfather of Joseph.

Tim thinks the phrase “out of the box thinking” should be put back in the box and buried in a deep hole.

Tim is a returning presenter.
