Win Wenger: In Memory

MindcampRandom

UPDATE: Win’s widow, Mindcamper Susan Wenger, has reached out for help with Win’s very high medical and funeral expenses, which she is still struggling to cover. Any amount will help! Here is a link to the fundraiser.

Win Wenger, a creative giant, died peacefully in his sleep last week.

Win presented his brilliance at the very first Mindcamp in 2003 by improvising on a rickety old, out-of-tune piano at our Cedar Glen location. Somehow he coaxed beautiful music from it. That was Win.

Win influenced thousands of Mindcampers and participants at CPSI and the ACRE South African Creativity conference with his unique and powerful approaches to learning and Creative Problem Solving.

Among his many innovative tools are ImageStreaming, WindTunnel, High Think Tank, Evoked Sidebands, Beachhead, The Double Entry AHA! Method, Crab Apple, Gravel Gulch, Over-the-Wall, and the inimitable Simply-Waking-Up-with-the-Answer. His Three Easy Tactics for learning has been demonstrated to improve student understanding and retention up to 300 percent over conventional teaching methods.

Win was unbelievably prolific and equally generous. He used to arrive at conferences with huge suitcases full of his materials, mostly to give away.

He was a truly remarkable human being, a Creative Hero if ever there was one.

Those who knew him will miss him dearly, but his influence will live on in this community and others.

Thank you Win. Rest in grace.
