UPDATE: Please help Bruce’s widow, Mindcamper Cindy Siener, with his unexpected medical expenses, which she is still struggling to cover. Here is a link to the fundraiser.

Our dear friend and colleague Bruce Baum died last month.

Those who received the gift of knowing him are heartbroken. Bruce was a remarkable man — compassionate, kind, wise, generous to a fault, funny beyond fault.

His parting leaves a hole in the universe.

If you knew him, you know that this is no exaggeration. If you didn’t, you can get a little flavor of who he was from Bruce’s official presenter bio below:

Bruce Baum, a legend in his own mind, is a Professor in the Exceptional Education Department at Buffalo State College and the ‘Head Honcho’ of HumorCreativity.Com. Dr. Baum is the author of How To Motivate Audiences: 121 Energizers, Ice Breakers and Activities for Promoting Creative Problem Solving, Teamwork and Laughter and The Almost Wet Your Pants Book of Humor. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Cincinnati, and his doctorate from Indiana University. Dr. Baum is a Colleague in the Creative Education Foundation, a leader in the Annual Creative Problem Solving Institute.

Bruce is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, an Associate with the Center for Development of Human Services, a Certified Laughter Leader, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor. He has conducted numerous programs on humor, laughter, creativity, team building, educating individuals with disabilities, coping with difficult people, communication, self-esteem, collaboration and managing stress.

In his spare time, Dr. Baum is a Rocket Scientist, Bronco Rider, Taxidermist, Explorer, Gourmet and Brain Surgeon.

Thank you, Bruce. You gave so much. We will miss you. We love you.
