Wanted: Web Fairy

MindcampRandom

Do you love coding WordPress websites? Do you know how to access files via FTP and troubleshoot “under the hood”? Do you know how to make WordPress websites do metaphorical backflips? Do you know what metaphorical means?

EDIT: PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A PAID JOB. THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION FOR A MINDCAMPER.

We need someone to take on the responsibility of maintaining the Mindcamp Canada website. This involves maintaining a complex WordPress site that currently DOES do backflips but needs to be curated and updated on an ongoing basis. Tasks include updating plugins, themes and the WordPress instance; uploading and/or updating information about presenters and programs; adding links and pages to the website for registration, program choice, Camino ideas; and more. The work alternates between nothing to do and lots to do, but probably averages out to several hours a month between January and August. The payoff: it’s interesting, fun (if you’re that sort of person), and you get to come to Mindcamp for free.

The fairy doing this job has to have mad skills in WordPress (essential) and be at least somewhat familiar with html and php. We’re looking for flexibility, creativity, good design sense and a willingness to learn.

Write tech@mindcamp.org if interested!
