The Shock of the Possible: Why We Can't Solve 21st Century Problems with 20th Century Thinking
led by Tim Hurson

The problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. — Albert Einstein

Author and innovation consultant Tim Hurson paints a compelling picture of how old-style thinking got us where we are and why it just won't cut it in today's financial, marketing, and organizational environment.

But Tim doesn't just describe our dilemma. He offers a way out — a new brand of thinking, Productive Thinking, that will be the critical differentiator between individuals and organizations that stagnate and those that thrive in the new world.

Based on the ideas in his forthcoming book, The Shock of the Possible, this talk — inspiring, engaging, and practical — is a must if you need to galvanize your audience into thinking out of the slump.

As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, then shall we save our[selves]. — Abraham Lincoln

Tim Hurson
Tim is a founding parter of thinkx intellectual capital. He has helped Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 organizations in the US, Canada, and the UK create innovation, marketing, new product, and workplace transformation programs. As a professional speaker, Tim speaks regularly about how to use the principles of productive thinking and creative leadership to manage change rather than be swamped by it. He shows how organizations can foster a creative working environment, stable enough to provide cultural continuity and flexible enough to adjust to rapid changes in technologies, markets, and mandates.

Tim is a founding director of Mindcamp and of Facilitators Without Borders. He is a faculty member and former Trustee of the Creative Education Foundation, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Lessing Institute, a Governing Counsellor of the YMCA of Metropolitan Toronto, and serves on several other non-profit boards.

Since its release in October 2007, Tim's book Think Better: An Innovator's Guide to Productive Thinking (McGraw Hill, NY) has consistently been one of McGraw Hill's top ten business books, and is now being translated into nine languages including Chinese (long and short), Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Thai, German, Spanish, and Polish.
